Much of the first generation of musicians, especially the more well known ones (such as Alex, Jackle, Tomb, Mic, PPS, Glaze, etc.), have either moved on from the scene entirely or are getting close to that point. And this is natural, nothing wrong with that of course. People want to do other things.
And naturally, there is a newer generation of musicians ready to take their place. The problem seems to be that most fans don’t want to let go of those original artists (i.e. the massive knee-jerk reaction Alex got from his fans when he said he was done), and as a result a lot of the new musicians don’t get nearly as much recognition as they deserve.
We get it, Party With Pinkie and Nightmare Night are great songs, but they aren’t the only songs out there. They’re tired songs and we’ve all heard them a million times. There is loads of quality content still being uploaded by newer artists, but not getting nearly as much appreciation because the fans don’t want to go out and look for new music.
It seems to me that the music side of the community just got too big for it’s own good, and so most of the people who were late to the party are just out of luck. There are a lot more talented musicians out there, more talented than me, who don’t get the recognition they deserve.
Too all of the musicians out there that feel like this applies to them, well I’m sorry the situation isn’t exactly ideal. I will say this though, keep at it. Hard work has it’s rewards, and granted you guys will have to work a bit harder because of how big everything is now, you can still do it. I got lucky, because I got in on this early despite being a huge slacker. So don’t be a slacker like me and show them what they’re missing. :)
